Pokemon GO has been one of the most successful mobile games in recent memory. The augmented reality game has swept across the globe and many Pokemon fans have been going out in the real world to try and “catch ‘em all!” The release of the game in Asia happened a lot later than what many had hoped for, but finally the game is now available in many countries in Asia and Oceania.
The announcement for the launch was made by Niantic Labs via the Pokemon GO official Facebook page. In the post Niantic Labs said; “Trainers in 15 new countries and regions across Asia and Oceania can now officially download Pokémon GO from the Play Store or App Store. Discover Pokémon in the world around you!” The post further revealed the new countries in Asia and Oceania where the game has officially become available saying “Countries and regions include: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.”
