Japanese mobile game developer and publisher GungHo Online Entertainment has revealed that the company’s flagship Puzzle & Dragons game has recorded over 4 million downloads in North America to date.

In March the popular FTP puzzler had topped 3 million North American downloads. Last year the publisher also announced over 18 million Puzzle & Dragons downloads in Japan alone, with the F2P puzzle-RPG reportedly earning US$5 million daily in Asia.

“A mobile gaming phenomenon, Puzzle & Dragons continues to see tremendous growth thanks to the game’s addictive combination of puzzle, dungeon-crawling, and monster-collecting gameplay,” said GungHo Online Entertainment in a statement. “Through its unique in-game collaborations across a variety of media properties from video games to comic books and Japanese animation, the title continues to see steady growth among Western audiences.”

International Data Corporation (IDC) and App Annie have also ranked Puzzle & Dragons as one of the top grossing mobile titles worldwide in 2013. The rankings per platform last year according to IDC and App Annie were Puzzle & Dragons, Candy Crush Saga and Monster Taming for Kakao (Google Play) and Clash of Clans, Puzzle & Dragons and Candy Crush Saga (iOS App Store).
