Sony PlayStation 4 will go on sale in India on 6 January for 39,990 INR (US$641), with 20 games available at launch.
“We have received an overwhelming response for PlayStation 4 globally,” said Sony India MD Kenichiro Hibi. “(We) are hoping to replicate this success in India too.”
As reported earlier, Sony sold 2.1 million PlayStation 4 units as of 1 December, with 700,000 consoles purchased in Europe and Australia within days of their respective releases.
The company’s newest flagship game console launched on 15 November in North America, in Australia, Europe and Latin American countries on 29 November, in Korea and Hong Kong on 17 December, and in Singapore on 19 December.
