Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, dropped a news through his Twitter account. Sony is apparently working on getting the PlayStation Remote Play feature to work on PCs; and more impressively it is also planning the same feature for Macs.
Little information has been provided about the feature, but it looks like the announcement was prompted by a third party PS4-to-PC application. Whether Sony was working on the feature before the unofficial application was made available is unknown, but it will take a lot of shine off the developer who was hoping to charge money for the application.
At the moment, the PS4 Remote Play feature allows the PS Vita and Sony Xperia smartphones to stream gameplay to the devices. It was always expected that Sony would be expanding the number of smartphones and tablets capable of taking advantage of the feature, but nobody quite saw the company expanding its console’s reach to the PC and Mac. This announcement will surely one-up the cross play feature on the Xbox One; which only works with computers running on Windows 10.
