Sony PlayStation 4 was released domestically over the weekend in a launch event that was streamed live worldwide and featured appearances by SCE Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, SCEJA President Hiroshi Kawano and SCE CEO Andrew House, as well as developers Yoshinori Ono, Toshihiro Nagoshi and Masayoshi Motoyama, Hideo Kojima, Naoki Yoshida and Shinji Hashimoto.
27 games are available on launch in Japan including region specific titles Yakuza Ishin, Nikoli no Puzzle 4: Sudoku, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Creation, Dream C Club: Host Girls on Stage, Tottemo E Mahjong Plus, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends and Onigiri.
As reported earlier, Sony’s newest flagship game console launched on 15 November in North America, in Australia, Europe and Latin American countries on 29 November, in Korea and Hong Kong on 17 December and in Singapore on 19 December. Sony PlayStation 4 also went on sale in India on 6 January and launched on 15 January in the Philippines.
