Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House has announced that the company sold 2.1 million PlayStation 4 units as of 1 December, with 700,000 consoles purchased in Europe and Australia within days of their respective releases.
As reported earlier, Sony’s newest flagship game console launched on 15 November in North America. Sony PlayStation 4 was released in Australia on 29 November, and in Europe and Latin American countries on 29 November.
Sony PlayStation 4 will launch in Korea on 17 December for 498,000 KRW (US$490), with 19 games available at launch. The console will go on sale in Hong Kong on 17 December for 3,380 HKD (US$436) and Singapore on 19 December for 639 SGD (US$510), with 23 games (including seven localised Chinese titles) available at launch. The console’s Japanese release is scheduled for 22 February.
