Square Enix has announced its line-up for the upcoming Paris Games Week. Making appearances at the event will be Final Fantasy 15 and the follow-up to Nier, along with titles like the recent Dragon Quest Heroes and Just Cause 3.
A press release from the publisher lists the new Nier, which it first unveiled at E3 2015 in June, under the temporary name Nier: New Project. The publisher announced the new Nier game there is still relatively little known about it. It’s being developed by Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance), with Nier director Yoko Taro in the director’s chair, Akihiko Yoshida (Bravely Second, Final Fantasy XIV) doing character designs, Takahisa Taura (Metal Gear Rising) as lead game designer, and Keiichi Okabe (Nier, Tekken 6) doing the music.
When it was announced, Square Enix said that there would be more information revealed this spring. A special presentation will be made at the publisher’s booth at 11am CET (11pm NZDT) on October 29. More information regarding the game will come from its producer Yosuke Saito (Dragon Quest X) and director Yoko Taro (Drakengard).As well as Nier New Project, Square Enix will be showing:
- Just Cause 3 – playable on the show floor
- Final Fantasy XV – Episode Duscae 2.0 demo playable on the show floor
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
- Hitman
- Final Fantasy Explorers
- Dragon Quest Heroes; The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below
- Life is Strange
- a “new [Square Enix] Collective project”
Paris Games Week runs from October 28 through November 1. Other publishers present include Sony, who are hosting their next big media briefing after skipping gamescom in August, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Nintendo, Warner Bros., Microsoft and others.
