Live game streaming provider Twitch has raised US$90,000 to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

Twitch and online retailer Teespring partnered to collect more than US$80,000 via t-shirt sales to the Twitch gaming community, and a cash donation from Twitch raised the total relief aid to US$90,000.

“The Twitch community is extremely giving, especially when you look at the millions of dollars raised for charity this year using our platform,” said Twitch CEO Emmett Shear in a statement. “We knew our community would support (Typhoon Haiyan relief aid), but we were still blown away by just how much support we received. Gamers definitely represent the next frontier of philanthropy.”
