Watch Dogs gets ACB R18+ rating

Watch Dogs

Ubisoft has confirmed that the publisher’s action title Watch Dogs has been rated R18+ in Australia. The decision follows the addition of controversial new content after the game’s initial review by the Australian Classification Board (ACB).

“The entire development team has been working hard to polish and fine tune Watch Dogs in order to deliver a truly memorable open world game,” said Ubisoft Australia in a statement. “As per Australian classification guidelines, Ubisoft resubmitted the updated version with the added content to the Australian Classification Board. The decision to amend the rating of the game from MA15+ to R18+ was made by the ACB.”

The ACB has reportedly reclassified the game as R18+ due to “implied sexual violence” which “implied or otherwise, is not permitted” in the MA15+ category.
