The recently launched Youkai Watch sequel has sold over 1.2 million units in Japan according to game media outlet Famitsu.
Youkai Watch 2: Founder and Youkai Watch 2: Head from Japanese developer Level-5 were released for Nintendo 3DS in Japan on 10 July.
In April Level-5 announced that the original RPG title had shipped over one million units in Japan. Youkai Watch for Nintendo 3DS in Japan was released by the studio last year and recently adapted into a Japanese televised anime series.
An overseas release for the Youkai Watch series has yet to be announced by Level-5.
