Sony Computer Entertainment will delay the launch of the company’s new flagship PS4 game console in the Japanese market until 22 February 2014.
According to a spokesperson at yesterday’s press conference in Tokyo, the domestic release is being pushed back in the order to have more Japan-specific games available, such as Dynasty Warriors 8 and Yakuza Restoration, when the device is launched in Japan.

However, Sony will be releasing the new PS4 in time for the 2013 holiday shopping season in North America.
“We had a tough experience of supply not meeting demand at an early stage of introduction for PS2 and PS3,” said Andrew House, Sony president and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment. “This time, we want to avoid that happening again. We want to launch it when we can meet the volume.”
